EA Sports have released Showdown into FIFA 21

 

The gifts just keep on giving this time of year as EA Sports have released a new promotion into FIFA 21’s Squad Building Challenges hub. Here is what we z2u.com know about the new FIFA 21 Showdown event.

Squad Building Challenges have become a staple in Football Ultimate Team, as these challenges have given players the opportunity to acquire special player items just by constructing lineups. Each week EA Sports will select a real football match (usually between those of the major leagues, i.e. Serie A, Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga or Ligue 1) and for each of the two protagonist teams of the match the SBC of one of players who play in it.

To put it in simpler terms, if one player’s team wins the match then their rating will be increased by two, and the losing player will receive diddly squat. If however the match ends in a draw, then both players’ cards will increase by one. This means that, although both players will be available in the SBCs hub, FIFA gamers will need to be careful about which one they want to go for, as we won’t know who receives the stat boost until after 90 minutes of regular time.

Players are free to complete both challenges and pick up the new Showdown player items, but keep in mind that the player ratings for these items are not meant to be static. The player on the winning team will receive a +2 OVR stats boost. The player on the losing end will not receive a stat increase.

If, however, there is a draw in the match, both players won’t be shut out of any rating increases. In the event of a draw, both items will receive a +1 OVR stat boost.

It will be up to us to decide every time on who to bet and therefore which SBC to complete, in the hope that the team of the player we have chosen will win the victory!
